Pending Home Sales Jump Again
By: CNNMoney.com / 4 May 2009
CNNMoney.com reported on May 4, 2009 that pending home sales rose in March for the second consecutive month and are up year over year. The Pending Home Sales Index from the National Association of Realtors showed that in the South the pending home sales jumped 8.5% this being the largest gain of any region, and 7.7% higher when compared with a year ago.
“For buyers who’ve been on the sideline and have good jobs, the market has never looked more favorable,” said NAR President Charles McMillan.
Sales are being accelerated by the $8,000 Tax Credit to First Time Home Buyers. This year’s Tax Credit WILL NOT have to be paid back, as was the case with last years.
Staff Report March 23, 2009
DAYTONA BEACH - Prices of existing homes continued to drop across the Volusia-Flagler market in February, but that help spur another month of increased sales, according to a report released today.
The median sales price — where half sold for less and half for more — in the two-county area in February was $132,400, down 23 percent from $171,700 in February 2008, according to the Florida Association of Realtors. The median sales price had not been that low since August 2003.
The price slide has boosted sales. Realtors sold 498 existing homes in February, up 11 percent from 450 in February 2008.
